Day 13
Where do I start? Up early for a jam packed day. First we went to a place called 'Chan Chan' which is a massive mud city measuring 22 sqaure kms. This place was just incredible, with tombs, arenas and even a lake built into it, which has survived hundreds and hundreds of years. Our guide was brilliant, he obviously found it as fascinating as we did. Then we went to a slightly newer temple, the name eludes me, which was mighty boring and the guide sounded like a tape recording. It was the same wall over and over again. I have one picture and it shows everything there is to see here.
We then went to see a horse show. I don't like horses. This breed of horse is native to Peru and is called 'the dancing horse' because when it walks, it looks like its dancing. Good to watch for 2 minutes, then the novelty wears off. With this horse was a boy and a girl dancing also. Suddenly, the horse trotts away and the girl comes over to me and puts her hand out to me. So i think 'what the hell' and take it and start dancing with her, some form of latin american dance. Then the realisation that im dancing -well, trying to atleast - in the middle of a field with tens of people watching me, hits in. It was mighty embarassing, and I believe there are many photos, and possibly a video of this.
After the "show", we are toured around the stable, MORE HORSES!, and are shown the local house where the stable workers live. Here we surprise an unlucky couple who are performing a sex act (email me if you want to know which one, you sick freaks) in a hammock. And instead of stopping and running away, they saw us and pulled the hammock up abit and carried on, why not.
A good day overall, and its only 6. Tomorrow is our last day with Johanna (it turns out i've been spelling here name wrong all this time), and we will get our new leader tomorrow night. It will be sad to see her leave because she has been great with us, we all think so. Will let you know my first opinion of our new guy Fernando, tomorrow.
